DomDomSoft Manga Downloader version 2.1.3 release

MangaToshokan has changed something and make the program did not work. I fixed it right away after I knew, please update to version 2.1.3.
Any serious bugs will be fixed within 24 hours.

just wondering, is there a way to DL manga by volumes? That is, have all images from one volume go in one folder, instead of chapter by chapter?

I afraid that there is no way because I cannot know how many chapters that the volume contains. The online manga sites do not provide that information.

But you can divide list chapters to many tasks, and choose download each task to each folder.

Wouldn’t Wikipedia have that information? Though they may not have volume information for the Smaller, Less Popular manga’s

i see…there are no sites that keep track of that huh?…

Too bad, it’s annoying to dl manga that has hundreds of chapters, especially from sites like MangaToshokan which has doubles of chapters….

I think, what ucie mean is a mobile application for phone like blackberry or s60, not a portable application for PC like your suggest..
The application itself is already portable, just copy and paste whole directory into your USB drive(at least for limited, dunno for pro)

That’s the problem, the error message doesn’t say which manga or site it’s not finding chapters on.

Be nice for the program to mention which one it was

Rereading all this, I realize I didn’t mention when it’s happening.

It’s happening while checking bookmarks.

An idea to consider, maybe expanding the bottom of the program to say
Checking Bookmarks….

Perhaps it’ll freeze at that point when the message shows up and we’d know to check our copy?

Maybe site series chapter.

Or maybe just have the popup box say which series and chapter it is?

The program checks series, not checks each chapter

There’s a bug..

I think this software stuck when loading http://www.onemanga.com/Ane_Doki/5/12./
because the file name is 12..jpg
Like you see, maybe it’s scanlation group fault or OM site fault, but the fact is the software can’t handle that filename and stuck..

This bug is quite hard to fix. It’s a bug of .Net framework 2.0. I think I need to change the program’s framework to 3.5 but some users have old OS could feel very inconvenient…

When you click the Queue section to sort it (In the big list on the main window) it doesn’t sort correctly..

it sorts like “1,10,11,12,13,14,15,2,20,21,3,4,5,6,7,8,9″ instead of like “1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10…”

There’s another bug. I encountered it with this manga series

There’s something wrong with the ‘task’ file at the ‘config’ folder. It said that “D:\dom dom\Config\task is broken” and I can’t launch the software at all.

What should I do?

Well depending on what the problem is you could open the “task” file with notepad and delete all the tasks listed though i don’t recommend that.
If you still have the original .rar that the program came in you should be able to extract the “task” file and replace it with the broken one. Likewise, if you don’t have the .rar you could redownload the rar from this site and simply extract “task” over the broken one

And if I did that my running download will be erased or not? and why is the ‘task’ file is broken at the first place?

Yes, replacing the Task file will get rid of your currently running/stopped downloads, i haven’t tested it yet because mine has never been broken and i don’t really know what would cause it. As I haven’t tested all I have said is theory yet, it should work.

If you have an account on any uploading sites (like Mediafire) upload the task file and give me the link, i could try to find the problem (if it is actually caused by the task file)

I guess that problem was caused by hard disk bad sector or something like that…

DomDom could you possibly add an automatically recurring update check (after a self-designated time) so that if people wanted they could leave the Manga Downloader in the taskbar to continue checking and downloading newly released manga without having to close the program.

Because I have a lot of bookmarks !!!!

Sometimes (like Milkshakw2k3 said in the post down) the speed decrease and stop the download of the files ( maybe is a issue withe site) i must close the prg and then start (and recheck all my bookmarks )

I think this is a simple modify in the prg

I’m still waiting for that manga title rename option (example Bleach 001 instead of Bleach 1) to be implemented. It could function as an option so everyone who wants it could turn it on

I was using “Internet Download Manager” to download those chapter, but it was a lot of pain that I must type every number of the file name. Thank you for your new inovation to make download manga easier than I used to do.

I have an idea, how about when the program downloads the file, it will do multiple download (not multiple task) for every files like IDM, DAP & DownThemAll (Firefox’s plugin) do. Because if this program using this method, downloading these file will be faster than usual

Yeah, but it’s quite complex and the program will uses more resource.
Since the files are small, multi-connection is not really needed.

Hmm, it has more series (1470 compared with 1058 on onemanga). Some manga that banned because complain from publisher is still readable on ourmanga. It will complete each other with current sites

Yureka 1 – 001.jpg, if i scroll down, itu will jump to Yureka 10 – 001.jpg (chapter 10) instead of Yureka 2 – 001.jpg )(chapter 2)

thx and 1 more thing, when u download a chapter that has 2 pages in 1 sheet, like http://media.onemanga.com/mangas/00000002/000278502/02-03.jpg , when i use rename single file digit into three digits, it will still same , 02-03.jpg (when u read, 001.jpg will jump to 006.jpg, not 02-03.jpg), i think it should be 002-03.jpg so the acdsee can sorted it by name..

Yesterday i downloaded the 2.1.3 version and it worked well, i downloaded some chapter, sometimes speed decrease and stop but removing and refreshing the require it works well.

Well, you see….uh I just came across a problem recently. When I start reading manga from say Ch.1, and select “Load Next Files” (I use CDisplay to read manga) it forwards to Ch.10. Can you make it 3 digit or something?

Yeah, and also if you search for say,”1″ or any other number, it also searches within the number of chapters.

For ex.

2×8 Song (17)

The manga name doesn’t have 1 but it still shows up because it has 17 chapters.I hope you understood what I was trying to say.

I don’t know whether it was intentional or just a mistake on your part. But for me, its certainly an inconvenience. Hope it gets fixed in the next version.

Okay last thing, promise. There’s a great site with a HUGE manga database – http://www.gotlurk.net. Just check it out! Mainly, its about downloading manga but there’s a catch. Its a pain in the ass to download stuff from that site (http://www.mangashare.com/forums/showthread.php?t=773, its a guide). I googled around a bit and found a downloader for it (http://code.google.com/p/lurkdownloader/). I was wondering if you could somehow implement in your Manga Downloader.
